The highest villages of the Jura Mountains

This mountainous area is the highest and least populated habitable area of the Jura Mountains. Houses are few and far between to leave place for a rich and preserved nature. Located at the heart of the Haut-Jura Regional Natural Park, the Hautes Combes combine both respect of nature and leisure activities for all.

Far North adventure

Everyone will find their heart’s desire here. You can enjoy the many  cross-country ski tracks or slopes, for all levels, or discover snow tubbing in Belleydoux. You can contemplate the winter landscapes when snowshoeing. More particularly, the Hautes-Combes are home to a large number of sled dogs teams and the mushers provide several formulas for dog sledding: individual for beginners to long rides over several days with bivouac accommodation.

In summer, let yourself be tempted by a hike, climbing up to the Chalam Crest, to the Pesse, where a breathtaking view of the Jura mountains awaits you

At the heart of the Haut-Jura Regional Natural Park

Both in summer and winter, you can stop off in Lajoux to discover the Maison du Parc, which will give you all the keys to understanding the area. Revise your geology with Chapeau de Gendarme and the Gorges du Flumen, between Saint-Claude and Sepmontcel.
