COMPAGNIE EQUINOTE | MARIE MOLLIENS
Under a big top immersed in the atmosphere of an abandoned funfair, an old carousel sits on a bed of sawdust. Its figures gradually come back to life, through a silent, carnal dialogue between man and horse. An immense whirlwind of poetry between heaven and earth.
In this circus fresco, where the spectator floats as if in weightlessness between life and death, dream and reality, four circus artists accompany the equestrian acrobatics of Sarah Dreyer and Vincent Welter, the founders of the Compagnie ÉquiNote. They all wander under a big top between worlds, a sort of purgatory with the air of a forgotten party. Each of them will have to settle accounts with himself, shed his desires for revenge, power, domination, love and hatred, lies and manipulation, in order to hope that the high horses will - one day perhaps - take them to the other side. A ballet with velvety lights, punctuated by contortions and acrobatics, all wrapped up in music composed and performed live (vocals, percussions, guitar, keyboard, bass, accordion). The magnificent staging is the work of Marie Molliens, director of the Compagnie Rasposo
Rasposo, which performed in Le Chant du Dindon and Oraison.
