Exposition Charles MACHET, Sculpteur - 2ème partie
Charles Machet is known for his numerous sculptures in bronze, stone, clay and wood. His major works, inspired portraits, expressive animals, sports scenes, or religious and symbolic themes, are at the heart of the exhibition. Numerous archive documents (photographs and films in particular), made available by the artist's descendants, help us understand the genesis of his creations. His drawings, oils and pastels, most of which are being shown to the public for the first time, provide an intimate and autobiographical approach to this complete artist. New pastels, drawings and sculptures are to be discovered in 2023. The Cerdon monument is also honoured with a model and archive documents, allowing visitors to discover the titanic construction site of the building. In the museum's garden, a photographic exhibition by Morgane Monneret presents works by Charles Machet spread over the Ain region. The museum is renewing its cultural programme in 2023, with something for everyone: Easter egg hunts and creative workshops for children, storytelling walks in the vicinity of the museum and accompanied hikes for the more sporty, or a conference on Charles Machet's sculpture for art lovers... New in 2023, flash visits of 15 minutes are offered throughout the day, focusing on a work or a theme of the museum.
