Tamara Al Saadi
Based on confidences exchanged between two teenage girls, Mer explores the themes dear to Tamara Al Saadi, including that of filiation. Her perfect mastery of words and the stage, and the generous acting of the actresses, make this a sensitive and humorous outpouring of life that speaks of the possibility of reparation. Mer offers a new way of looking at a complex and chaotic mother/daughter relationship, through a surprising encounter between two teenage girls that raises questions about family ties and taboos... Sometimes we come up against dead ends in our relationships with the people who raised us. This light-hearted theatrical form shows us these places of incomprehension, emptiness and mystery that hover over the construction of the adults around us. Two eras come together; two women exchange ideas in a brief moment that harbours an element of the unexpected, with humour and sensitivity, where the most intimate secrets are hidden and revealed...
