2-day course - Introduction to turning with the Atelier de la Barbastelle

Programme :

Day 1:
9.30am: welcome tea/coffee discussion on pottery
10am: throwing
12.30pm: lunch break
2pm: throwing
4.15pm: cleaning up and end of the day

Day 2 :
9.30am: welcome and start of shooting
12.30pm: lunch break
2pm: turning or garnishing
4pm: cleaning of equipment and end of course

Aims: learn how to centre the clay, assemble a cylinder and work on a bowl/cup. Turning pieces and, if you wish, trimming a piece (fitting a handle).

Price: €190 per person. Organic vegetarian lunch €15 per person per meal.
Conditions: 2 to 3 students per session. One wheel per person. Clay and tools provided. Firing of 2 pieces glazed and fired by the potter, to be collected from the workshop a few weeks later.
