GRP Tour de la Haute Bienne

-

This long country hike (GRP) goes around the Bienne valley between Morez and Saint-Claude. Ideal for discovering the Haut Jura and its incomparable natural landscapes, this hike of several days is aimed at experienced hikers. The difference in altitude is significant due to the steepness of the Bienne valley. During the course of this adventure, hikers will have the chance to walk in an unspoilt natural environment in the heart of the Haut-Jura Regional Nature Park.
Numerous viewpoints on the surrounding valleys punctuate this itinerant hike between Saint-Claude, Morez and the Station des Rousses. It also passes through many of the department's must-see sites such as the Bienne gorges, the Abbaye, Bellefontaine, Les Rousses and Lamoura lakes, the Rixouse waterfall and small villages with typical Haut-Jura farms: Lamoura, Longchaumois, Grande Rivière, Bellefontaine or Morbier.
Numerous Comté cheese dairies also line the route, and a short break for tasting is highly recommended to regain some strength... We also invite hikers to visit the Abbey Museum and the Cathedral in Saint-Claude, the spectacle museum in Morez and also the Polar Worlds Space in Prémanon!

A variation is possible between La Mouille and Saint-Claude via Longchaumois, which reduces the distance by 30 km.
