Maîche – Le Russey

Close to Switzerland, this is the Watchmakers’ Region. It is not only home to French watch makers, but also to the Comtois horse, tuyé farms (rare, traditional house in Franche Comte) and the Morteau sausage. It is also where the Grande Traversée du Jura (cross-country ski trail) begins.

Its gentle landscapes offer the most beautiful cross-country skiing areas.
