Tram Viaduct signposting
Located at the foot of the viaduct, this waterfall is very active in rainy weather. The circuit is very easy. From the Lavans-lès-Saint-Claude fitness trail, you reach the lower part of the Lizon gorges by passing over the tram viaduct. The circuit is very easy, accessible to children (watch out when crossing the viaduct!)
A bit of history: The bridge was built between 1896 and 1898 on the tramway line linking Saint-Claude to Clairvaux-les-Lacs. The line was closed in 1948 and is since abandoned.
Access: from Saint-Claude, go to the Lizon plateau, direction "Lons le Saunier". After forking at the Lizon bridge in the direction of Lavans-lès-Saint-Claude and Moirans-en-Montagne, take the road on the left "Lizon, musée de la tournerie". Park near the level crossing. Continue on foot to the tournerie museum then take a small path marked "tram".
