La Haute Vallée de la Saine

An atypical valley!
Of course, one cannot confuse "Saine" and "Seine", and the Jura torrent is less visible than the great French river on our geography maps... But over seventeen short kilometres, the course of the Saine puts on a show: from gorges to waterfalls and from chasms to viewpoints, this tumultuous torrent has well deserved its classification by the Ministry of the Environment: by joining the very closed club of the "major sites of the Jura", the Upper Saine Valley has become one of the most fashionable "spots" in the department. But beware! Along this ancient sacred river, you may well see a white horse drinking or the Langouette Fairy fluttering about!
