Situated in the Haut-Doubs region, in the heart of the Jura Mountains, around ten kilometres from Pontarlier and less than 10 minutes from Montbenoit, the Haut Saugeais Blanc Nordic area is the closest to Besançon to the GTJ network (and all the cross-country ski resorts that make it up) without having to cross the Pontarlier conurbation. It extends over the communes of Hauterive-la-Fresse, Les Alliés and Ville-du-Pont, but also benefits from a border position and provides access to neighbouring Switzerland.
Nestling in the setting of the Perdrix site, the start of the runs is organised around the nerve centre of the resort and the headquarters of the association: the Haut Saugeais Blanc stopover gîte. Equipped with a car park and all the services you need (rentals, fees, accommodation, catering, etc.), the gîte is the starting point for your ski or snowshoe excursions.
With 25km of marked cross-country ski trails and several snowshoe itineraries of its own, the Nordic area has various connections with the rest of the Jura Nordic network; These include a link with the Malmaison site (Pontarlier) and a GTJ (Grande Traversée du Jura) link that takes you just a kilometre to Switzerland and a vast skiing area serving the Val de Morteau (via Charopey, les Seignes), Vallée de la Brévine (CH) and Larmont (Pontarlier) sites, via the trails of the Swiss Roman cross-country skiing network at Les Cernets (CH).
