On the outskirts of Besançon, the Chailluz forest and its 1,600 hectares welcome nature lovers. Explore the many sites in the forest, including a wildlife park where wild boar, fallow deer and roe deer roam in their natural environment. Along the way, visit the picturesque
the picturesque hamlet of Grandes Baraques, or the fort of Dame Blanche. Perched at an altitude of 620 metres, it offers a fine panoramic view of the Ognon and Doubs valleys. This moderately-difficult route takes you through beech-fir forests, alternating between wide and narrow paths. Speed and rapidity will need to be reconciled with a certain agility and dexterity for this tour to be a success.
In view of the worrying state of health of certain trees on forest plots 84 - 85 - 88 - 89 - 96 - 98 and 99, the sections of mountain bike trails no. 121 and 122 running through these plots are closed to the public. Users are invited to use the diversions routes that have been set up, identified by mountain bike liaison markers.
