Jura Mountain Bike Escape

-

In 2021, the Échappée Jurassienne will offer a mountain bike version of its emblematic route. From now on, mountain bike enthusiasts will also be able to enjoy the incredible landscapes, natural sites, panoramas and cultural sites offered by the Échappée Jurassienne. But beyond the discovery of the great sites of the Jura, it is an incredibly rich human adventure and a journey as close as possible to a preserved and diversified nature that awaits mountain bikers. The Jura Mountain Bike Escape is an invitation to disconnect, to surpass oneself and to take a break from nature.

The Échappée Jurassienne à VTT is a 295 km itinerary with 6,754 m of positive altitude difference and 6,551 m of negative altitude difference, from Dole to Saint-Claude via the Station des Rousses. This route is largely based on the route of the Échappée Jurassienne pédestre and is adapted at times to remain accessible and to avoid some impassable or dangerous passages for two-wheelers. Due to its steepness and average technical level, the stages of the Échappée Jurassienne by mountain bike are between 30 and 40 km per day. This means an adventure of 5 to 9 days, depending on the technical level, physical condition and the use of a muscle bike or electric bike.
