EuroVelo 6 is a European cycle route forming part of a vast development project. Covering a distance of 4,450 km in its entirety, it links France and Romania. Crossing Central Europe, the route runs from the western Atlantic Ocean to the Black Sea, following the course of three of the continent's largest rivers. The cycle route crosses ten countries in all.

You'll start by cycling along the Rhone-Rhine Canal, a waterway that reveals the region's historical and natural charms, before heading for Montbéliard, a town steeped in history.
You'll pass through the picturesque Brognard lock before reaching the famous town of Belfort, whose ramparts watch over the Doubs. Pedal peacefully along the waters of the Doubs, discovering historic Comtois towns such as Baume-les-Dames, where pleasure boats dot the banks and the karst hills offer a unique landscape. The remains of industrial activity are a reminder of the region's prolific past.
You can stop off at Besançon, a city steeped in history, where a remarkable theatre of greenery invites you to relax. You can continue your journey towards the base of Osselle, and cross the majestic Chaux forest, as well as the Arc-et-Senans royal saltworks, a testament to architectural ingenuity.
You'll follow the winding valley of the Doubs, discovering ancient villages and small ports, until you reach the emblematic St-Jean-de-Losne, where the atmosphere of the river marks the imperceptible transition to Burgundy. A journey that reveals the diversity and natural beauty of the landscapes of the Jura Mountains.
