The Valousian

Reserved for experienced mountain bikers, this route from Arinthod combines technical trails with a variety of remarkable cultural and natural sites. The church of Saint-Hymetière and the Caborne du Boeuf cave are the first rewards after a good warm-up along the Valouse. Next come the Valouse gorges, visible from the many viewpoints around the village of Genod. This is followed on the climb by some very fine views of Arinthod, particularly from the linden tree lookout. Finally, after crossing the Coiron and Lionge woods, the route crosses the splendid Vogna cirque, passing the unusual Pierre Enon before reaching Arinthod via Néglia.
