Departure from Orgelet, a small town with a strong Comtois character. The route leaves it to describe a wide loop on the plateau bordering the Ain valley and Vouglans lake. Forests and more open landscapes alternate along rolling paths and more technical trails. At the halfway point, the renovated ruins of the Présilly castle are the perfect place to take a pleasant break in the forest while our imagination travels through the years in this place steeped in history. The return journey is via Dompierre-sur-Mont before reaching Orgelet and the imposing bell tower of its 15th century church.
Not far from there is the Vouglans lake, the 3rd largest water reservoir in France and its Surchauffant beach where it is good to relax after a good mountain bike ride...
