Mount Vassange

-

This hilly circuit in the north of the Jura is also called the Bermont circuit. It mostly runs through undergrowth, from village to village around the Vassange mountain. On the first kilometre, the route climbs to the Bermont lookout point, which offers a remarkable view of the Saône and Ognon valleys as well as the forest of the Serre massif, classified as Natura 2000. The route then crosses the Laffant wood before reaching the village of Taxenne and the Comtois bell tower of its church. Before reaching your starting point, between Taxenne and Saligney, it is possible, weather permitting, to see Mount Poupet and then the Haut-Jura and even the Alps in the distance!
