Walls and Whispers
This unique walking route takes you back in time to a bygone era, a time that is still the source of the unique landscape of Chenecey and Buillon. The activities of yesteryear explain the landscapes of today: a strong identity and a rich, diverse memory that has been built up over time and passed down from generation to generation.
Through a digital application, like them before you, you are invited by the monks of the Cistercian abbey or by the famous painter James Tissot to leave the hustle and bustle of the village and enter places inviting you to soothe and contemplate.
In ten stations, the media will enable you to discover places inaccessible to the public as they were in their heyday. Human relationships, self-awareness, art and links with nature have evolved here over the course of time and their respective challenges. Through this retrospective journey, and thanks to the different perspectives of the players who have occupied this space, this walk invites us to ask ourselves how we can draw on the richness of these past experiences to build the world of tomorrow.
The general "grand circuit" route is a long but easy 9km loop starting on the plateau and finishing in the valley. A "short circuit" variant, confined to the Granges du Sapin plateau, will allow you to discover the most intimate part of this landscape, partly via a short loop decorated with Land'Art works.
The short 4 km circuit: 100 m ascent, 1h30, easy, artistic and fun.
The long 9 km circuit: 230 m ascent, 3 hours, for good walkers (also suitable for mountain bikes).
More experienced walkers can continue their discovery of Chenecey by catching up with the La Vouivre loop at the end of the route.
The digital application requires a smartphone or connected tablet. You can connect by flashing QRcodes on site. Languages: FR and EN.
