Starting from Voiteur, the route goes up the course of the Seille under the rocks of the village of Château-Chalon perched as a sentinel above the vineyards. After climbing the steep slopes at the gates of Nevy-sur-Seille, the path stretches over the peaceful Rosnay plateau. In the 16th century, the woods of Rosnay were the refuge of Ravaillac's parents, persecuted after the assassination of Henri IV by their son. Descending the côte des Buis, on the other side of the plateau, the route overlooks the vineyards of Lavigny and Vernois and in the distance, the plains of the Bresse Jurassienne.
