Starting out from Lons-le-Saunier, the spa town and prefecture of the Jura, the Vallière greenway takes you to the villages of Perrigny, Conliège and Revigny, following the Vallière river as it winds its way through the Revigny-Conliège ravine.
This 6-kilometre-long greenway is the perfect link between the town of Lons-le-Saunier, the neighbouring villages and the Voie PLM, which then leads to Lac de Chalain and the town of Champagnole via an old railway line that has been converted into a greenway.
Particularly pleasant and shady, the Vallière greenway sometimes passes through pastures (goats, horses, cows, etc.), sometimes through residential areas, but always following the course of the Vallière river, which rises in the village of Revigny. In fact, it is the Vallière that has shaped the landscape, creating a superb hollow in the limestone rock.
The valley is particularly well-suited to outdoor activities, with numerous hiking trails (including the GR®59) and mountain bike trails linking a number of panoramic viewpoints, including the Guillotine and Tilleuls lookouts. The reculée is also home to many heritage attractions, including the emblematic Ermitage de Conliège, which has dominated the village since 1605, the Romanesque church of Revigny with its 15th-century fresco, and the Charnay and Equinox crosses.
