After Un homme qui fume c'est plus sain in 2021, this is one of the latest offerings from the Bajour collective, also on the theme of family. Stéphane, Yan and Eliza have to deal with the violent death of a brother, Hugo, and a sister, Esther, in a fire. First they want to forget, to lose their memories. It's a futile attempt to avoid mourning, because the dead always come back, like ghosts. In this bath of suffering floats a magnificent love story, a beacon of sweetness illuminating the stage with charcoal residue, giving it the strange impression of having been consumed by the flames. Tension mounts between the desire to erase and the desire to write, to cultivate the memory where so many wounds take root. In an inventive, highly visual set, the Collectif, with its remarkable sense of text and improvisation, draws the audience into the ashes of the family hearth without ever forgetting the humour, joy, carefreeness and hope.
