-

As a result of his close reading of Julius Caesar's texts and excavations in the Crans, Syam and Chaux-des-Crotenay areas, the great archaeologist André Berthier identified rough-cut walls, numerous enigmatic stones and thousands of remains testifying to a major protohistoric, Gallo-Roman and medieval occupation.

From 15 July to 15 August, the ArchéoJuraSites association is organising day trips to the site on Tuesdays and Fridays, starting at 9.30am. Bring a full day's excursion, good walking shoes and a packed lunch.
Booking essential.

At the same time, a permanent exhibition has been set up in the heart of the village of Chaux-des-Crotenay, to showcase this astonishing heritage. From 15 July to 15 August, the exhibition is open on Wednesdays from 2pm to 5.30pm.
