Bust modelling
The portrait genre occupies an important place in the history of art. Although drawing, painting and engraving are very often used, a portrait can also be three-dimensional. This tour explores the concept of the portrait in our collections, followed by a workshop in modelling a clay bust.
Saturday 19 October at 2.30pm

Ex-voto creation
Take a tour of the archaeological trail back to ancient times, and learn about the religious practices of the Gallo-Romans. A workshop using metal embossing will help you to understand the creation and role of the ex-voto in Gallo-Roman times.
Saturday 4 January at 2.30pm

Modelling Medusa in bas-relief
Greco-Roman mythology, with its repertoire of extraordinary adventures, imaginary monsters, gods and heroes, was for many centuries one of the main sources of inspiration for Western European artists. The tour will take you on a journey through this rich repertoire of ancient myths and
discover the painted or sculpted works of this so-called "noble" genre. The workshop includes the creation of a clay jellyfish head in bas-relief.
Saturday 22 February at 2.30pm

Ancient Egypt - hieroglyphs
Discover ancient Egypt through the museum's Egyptian collections. Numerous objects such as a polychrome statue of Osiris, a "mythological" papyrus, animal mummies, cardboard, etc. bear witness to Egyptian religion and its belief in the afterlife. The workshop offers an introduction to hieroglyphics on papyrus using a calamus.
