A festive and convivial evening to celebrate 30 years of AOC Crémant du Jura.

The AOC Crémant du Jura will be celebrating its 30th anniversary on Friday 17 October with a festive evening of conviviality and sharing.

A two-part evening
The festivities will begin at 6pm with an aperitif in the Grande Saline de Salins-les-Bains, an emblematic heritage site offering a unique setting for Jura bubbles.

At 7.30pm, the 30th anniversary banquet will take place at the Casino de Salins-les-Bains, with a dinner and show and a 100% Crémant menu designed to bring out the best in food and wine pairings and highlight the full diversity of the Crémant du Jura AOC.


Winegrowers in the spotlight
Throughout the evening, the winemakers will be on hand to share their expertise, tell the story of the appellation and showcase the richness of their cuvées. It's a great opportunity to share ideas and celebrate three decades of demanding standards and passion.

An event as part of "Vignobles en Scène
This exceptional evening is part of the major national event Vignobles en Scène, which celebrates the terroirs and the men and women who bring them to life.


The effervescence of an appellation

The Crémant du Jura AOC was awarded on 9 October 1995. Sparkling wine production in the Jura dates back to the end of the 18th century, when Jura winegrowers had already mastered the traditional method. The appellation area for Crémant du Jura is identical to that for Côtes du Jura, Arbois, Château-Chalon and Etoile. The grape varieties authorised for its production are Poulsard, Pinot Noir, Trousseau, Chardonnay and Savagnin. For white wines, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Trousseau account for 70% or more of the cuvée. For rosé wines, the volume produced from black or grey grape varieties is greater than or equal to 50% of the cuvée.

The grapes, which must be harvested by hand, are transported in perforated crates and pressed in whole bunches. Since its creation in 1995, Crémant du Jura production has grown steadily, accounting for around 16% of total Jura AOC production, from a surface area of 282 hectares, averaging 17,300 hectolitres a year.
