Organised by the CAHD, in partnership with the Festival Rencontres des Musiques du Monde en Haïti.
Moonlight Benjamin, an exceptional Haitian artist, Wayo, a Voodoo Blues Rock show.
Once again this year, the Nuits de Joux will close to the rhythms of the Caribbean, reinforcing the links between Château de Joux, Haiti and the memory of Toussaint Louverture, symbol of freedom.
Described as the "Haitian Patti Smith" by the British newspaper The Guardian, and playlisted by Iggy Pop on the BBC, the singer and voodoo priestess continues her exploration of unique Caribbean blues rock.
With a deeper, darker sound and Moonlight's unique voice, influenced by Alabama Shakes as well as Oumou Sangaré or Dr John, the new show/album "Wayo" is a real cry, a mystifying, mystical, quasi-shamanic musical mix, a liberating incantation amidst raging guitars and percussive drums.
It's a powerful new fusion of Caribbean voodoo melodies and rhythms with 70s US blues-rock; the clash between Moonlight's powerful, rebellious voice and the tension of saturated guitars... voodoo trance in a new, explosive form!
