Contemporary music concerts - Fanfare Ciocarlia

To launch the season of contemporary music concerts in the Salle Ledoux, the Saline Royale d'Arc-et-Senans is inviting the Fanfare Ciocarlia for a festive, friendly, 100% Gypsy concert open to all.

This brass band from the 'hidden' village of Zece Prajini in north-east Romania is one of the world's leading live music groups.
The Romanian brass band's blistering speed, impeccable technique, hard-hitting rhythms and bittersweet brass instruments set it apart from all the other brass bands in the world. It is even said that no brass band has ever played so fast.
Their radical reinterpretations of popular Western standards show how effortlessly the Romanian orchestra "gypsies" any music they play to.
Trained by their fathers and grandfathers, the members of Fanfare Ciocarlia proudly approach each concert as a challenge: to entertain the audience while perpetuating the authentic spirit of Gypsy music.
