By André Jacques.
Nothing predisposed Émile LAROUE to fame. However, this tinsmith, who loved his trade, his family and his country, had one passion: nature. So much so that he devoted all his spare time to studying it, making it better known and protecting it, becoming an eminent mycologist and an undisputed specialist in the flora of the Haut-Doubs, recognised by his peers far beyond the Frasne peat bogs. The local authority, recognising him as a pioneer in environmental protection, named the college after him in 1980.
