Women's hearts - Gérard Fourneret.
Cardiovascular disease is the second leading cause of death in France, with 147,000 deaths every year. It is the leading cause of death in the over-65s, particularly in women, who are thought to be protected until the menopause by their natural oestrogens. New lifestyles (stress, smoking, the pill) have largely changed the situation. After looking at the symptoms, which tend to be atypical, we will focus on the specific features of coronary heart disease in women and stress the importance of prevention.
