He was particularly fond of free themes and self-portraits. At the beginning of his practice, he painted "trashy" works: hanging people, shredded bodies, duplications, Moroccan obsessions. Gradually, his paintings calm down: animals, poppies, wide-eyed figures looking at you. Or at each other? Today, Etienne continues to paint in groups, at the Grande Reyssouze socio-cultural center and at "Peindre à Bourg". Little by little, a ritual has been established: a first canvas made during a workshop. When he got home, he immediately started on a 2nd canvas: a black frame. Then a background. And the drawing on top. Canvases come in pairs or series, depending on inspiration... An exhibition open to the public during MCC opening hours.
