From Courbet to Monet, the triumph of nature
A new tour of the Courbet museum
Thanks to a partnership with the Musée des Beaux-Arts Jules Chéret in Nice, the permanent exhibition at the Musée Courbet is getting a makeover, with the addition of no fewer than 12 new works! Alongside works by Camille Corot, Théodore Rousseau, Constant Troyon and Narcisse Diaz de la Peña, two emblematic canvases by Gustave Courbet, Le Chevreuil aux écoutes and Le Saut du Doubs, complete the largest public collection of works by the master of realism. This new display will initiate a dialogue between Gustave Courbet and some of his contemporaries and friends, enabling us to discover how these artists revolutionised the landscape genre and paved the way for modernism.
