Two artists' visions on show

-

Alain Barray's inspiration oscillates between a free representation of nature and a particular attraction for old houses, medieval fortresses, wide open spaces and forests. He also likes to let his imagination build cities with improbable architecture... Oil paint, acrylics and the use of a variety of materials and supports have enabled him to pursue this research.
Today, he lets himself be carried away by this passion by taking part in exhibitions, where he is enriched by the many human exchanges and shared sensibilities.
You can meet him in his studio in Quintigny, where he works on a daily basis (by appointment by telephone).
You can also find his latest creations on Facebook.

A self-taught painter born in 1956 in a small town in the Vosges and now living in the Jura, Hervé Robinet discovered painting in 2006.
As I was still working, it wasn't until I retired in 2015 that I started exhibiting.

I discovered serenity and detachment from the real world by looking for a model and a movement while drawing and painting.
I explored different pictorial universes by reading books.
My first love was the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist periods. My years of figurative painting taught me the techniques of drawing and perspective, and that's how I started to paint landscapes.
I've become familiar with a particularly colourful contemporary pop art style, the characteristic feature of which is the structuring of the subject represented by multicoloured polygons. This technique won me the silver prize in Alsace and second prize from the public at the Lion's Club in Dole.
