Appearing 120 million years ago, ants are the descendants of wasps. Today there are many of them, and they have developed all over the world, present on all the world's landmasses.
There are 12,000 known species of ant in the world, and almost as many different shapes, sizes and colours. Organised in colonies, some breed aphids while others grow mushrooms, but all play an essential role in our environment.
A rediscovery of this insect, so familiar and yet so surprising!
Suitable for all ages from 6 upwards.
