Art exhibition - "Par chez moi, la nature encrée. Simon Bichet

Simon Bichet trained in the arts and crafts at the École Boulle, but soon moved away from the applied arts to develop a graphic identity based on drawing and illustration. It is only recently, driven by a desire to explore other techniques and work in larger formats, that he has embarked on a more intimate and experimental pictorial quest.

The exhibition mainly features works in intaglio ink. Usually intended for printing, this ink is here applied directly by hand to paper or canvas. Fluid and almost alive, it allows the artist to 'draw' with great freedom, sculpting the material with various tools to bring out textures, reliefs and volumes.

The themes that run through her work are deeply rooted in her childhood in the Haut-Doubs region, and in the sensitive dialogue between man and nature. Simon Bichet uses graphic gestures that are sometimes harsh, almost ripping, to reveal the wild intensity and emotional depth of the Jura landscapes.

Exhibition included in the entrance fee for the Maison de la Réserve. On view from 09 January 2026 to 29 March 2026.
