Fragments du vivant - The wood we no longer look at.
Geoffrey Clairotte transforms reclaimed wood into a unique artistic medium. Pallets, planks and reels become the basis for a body of work in which the raw material enters into dialogue with colour, light and gesture.
His world explores the boundary between strength and fragility, nature and humanity, abstraction and realism.
Each work reveals the presence of wood, its marks, its scars, its memory, integrated as an integral part of the painting.
Through this approach, Geoffrey invites us to look at this everyday material differently, to discover a new poetry and a different way of inhabiting living things.
