The Festival du Bitume et des Plumes is back for its 9th flamboyant edition. For three days, the city is transformed into a living space, teeming with art, commitment and poetry.

Three days isn't a long time, but it's long enough for the effervescence made in Bitume to permeate every corner of the city.
A mass opening at Place de la Révolution
On Friday 4 October at 7pm on the Place de la Révolution, the AIAA company opens the festival with an exuberant show about the media, Madame, Monsieur, Bonsoir! The company's starting point is a simple observation: 50% of French people don't trust the French media, yet everyone keeps themselves informed. At prime time, experience a series of absurd and offbeat situations that question the work of journalism, the transmission of information and what this says about democracy.
A garden inauguration under the sign of friendship
On Saturday 5 October, the Maison de quartier Grette-Butte will be inaugurating its gardens, providing a beautiful setting for the latest creation by Jura-based company Pocket Théâtre, Homme(S) Intègre(S)? A promise to keep. A story of friendship between two men, a Frenchman and a Burkinabé, in a Burkina Faso of 20 years ago. This is Thierry Combe's first story, and he invites us to relive his immersion as a young teacher. Between discoveries and disappointments, football matches and initiation rites, he recalls his memories and figures from the past, all echoes of the country's dramatic current events. The second story, by Helton Schadrak Tiendrebeogo, will be created in 2025.
Getting together in the Grette-Butte district
The Festival du Bitume et des Plumes and the Maison de l'Architecture are pooling their energies to bring the show Chantier! La tournée du coq, created by Jura-based company Les Urbaindigènes, in the Grette-Butte district. This XXL show will take us through a collaborative experience: the assembly of a 10m-high framework. Alone we go faster, but together we go further.
Place Granvelle: a validated HQ
The Festival has decided to continue living in the Place Granvelle, a place where everything is possible. Here you'll find the Furieuse infokiosk, and over there the Remue-Manège by the Pareidolie company, a handmade merry-go-round for little ones who haven't grown up too much, not far from the postcard stamping and personalisation workshop. And all this, under the watchful eye of a big stage that comes alive from 8pm on Friday with our usual open stage orchestrated by the bisontinental drag collective the House of Détritus. This will be followed by a dance party by the group Atouboudchan, who will be covering the best songs by Michel Delpech, Dalida and Rita Mitsouko.
