POTE" Festival

A festival, a forum, an attitude: POTE - Playing On The Edge aims to create a genuine artistic community driven by the decompartmentalisation of classical music. Concept concerts, musical exchanges, chamber music festivals and participatory jam sessions bring together a wide and curious audience to explore new approaches.

Introducing a stimulating contemporary repertoire, putting cross-disciplinarity at the heart of an artistic and human project, bringing together musicians from the Bourgogne Franche-Comté region - amateurs, young talents or established professionals: that's the ambition of the "POTE" festival.

2025 edition "Back to the future

40 years ago, the cult film Back to the Future opened up a new dimension in the world of science fiction: after a 2024 edition under the banner of the living (The Mushroom, the Bird and the Whale), POTE returns for a
6th edition, focusing on the music of the future. Auscultating the most incredible links between music and science
while cultivating its trademark humour and remaining on the lookout for new experiences, Playing On The Edge invites you to a new edition as explosive as the time machine borrowed by Marty McFly and Dr Emmett Brown!

On the programme for 7, 8 and 9 November 2025 is a musical exploration of the issues at the heart of this iconic film: the future of humanity in a technological world, our relationship with time, destiny and free will, and the blending of genres and registers. Don't miss the concert events that punctuate these three days, and in particular the stimulating cohabitation of Gesualdo, Palestrina, Grisey and composer Qingqing Teng on Friday 7.

On the following day, you can embark on an invigorating contemporary ball or discover Reich's Different Trains, a particularly intense work, at the closing concert. Artists, students, amateur musicians and spectators will be building new imaginations together!
