During your lunch or coffee break at Ciboulette & Cie, you'll have the chance to enjoy photos of Jean-Michel Cattenoz's trip to Iceland.

As a photographer for many years, I try to capture what nature has to offer in terms of beauty, grandeur, the unusual and sometimes the rare.
I was lucky enough to be able to travel to Iceland in May 2023 and I discovered an island of ice and fire where nature reigns supreme.
It's hard to choose just a few photos, because everything is so big and beautiful, but here are just a few:

Landmannalaugar, located 190km west of Rekjavik
of Rekjavik, is a group of immense domes of rhyolite and obsidian flows, which border a river of hot water. The rocks, rich in oxides, are adorned with the different colours of the rainbow.

Skrottur geyser, the geothermal area of Geysir to the north-east of Rekjavik gave its name to the geyser phenomenon. Skrottur projects turquoise and white water up to 30 m high every 7 minutes or so.

The Ice Languages of Vatnajökull flow into the lagoons, the ice bearing the traces of volcanic eruptions.

Emblems of Iceland, the puffins of the Ingolfshöfdi peninsula come to nest on the cliffs, decked out in their most beautiful colours, while the great skuas, a type of gull and a formidable predator, defend their nests on the ground and threaten visitors, forcing them to stay on the path.

The sea outing in Husavik Bay, the cetacean-watching capital of Europe, gave us the chance to get close to the humpback whales, while keeping our distance to respect these animals, which can measure up to 17 m and weigh up to 40 tonnes.
