European Heritage Days at the Musée du Costume et des Traditions Comtoises

The Musée du Costume et des traditions Comtoises opens its doors to visitors with free admission and offers events and demonstrations
Saturday 21 September 2024:
- From 2.30pm, demonstrations by woodturners, lacemakers, ceramists and hatmakers. From 3pm, fashion shows every hour, then at 6.30pm dances in 1900 dress.
- From 2.30pm, free temporary entertainment (registration required) under the big top.
*2.30pm and 4.30pm: with pen and ink, make a 1900 dictation
*2.30pm: make your own natural paint pigments
*3.30pm: Sketch the museum (drawing and watercolour workshop) 2-hour workshop
*4.30pm: learn black and white in 6 photos
*5.30pm: Learn the arts of thread (cross stitch, stem stitch embroidery, frivolity...) approx 1 hour from 10 years upwards

Sunday 22 September 2024:
From 2.30pm demonstrations by wood turners, lace makers, ceramists, hat makers, basket makers and gold leaf gilders.
- From 2.30pm, free temporary events (registration required) under the marquee
*2.30pm: make ribbon roses
*2.30pm: make your own natural paint pigments
*2.30pm: learn black and white in 6 photos
*3.00pm: children's workshop, make a traditional key ring with a milliner (45 mins)
*3.00 pm: Sketch the museum (watercolour drawing workshop) 2-hour workshop
*3.30 pm and 5.30 pm: with pen and ink, make a dictation 1900
*4pm: learn to paint on wood (1 hour 30 minutes workshop)
*5.30pm: learn about thread arts (cross stitch, stem stitch embroidery, frivolity...) approx 1 hour from 10 years upwards

During these 2 days, you can have your portrait taken 1900-style by the Ornans photoclub.
Gourmet 1900s-style tea room food and wood-fired waffles.

These days are organised in collaboration with volunteers, the Association des Tourneurs de Franche-Comté, Clélou (hat maker), les paniers de Cha (basket maker), Françoise Edelin (photographer) and Marie Odile Mourel (watercolourist), Daniel Fabrègues and the Couleurs d'O association (watercolourists), Association les crinolines (19th century fashion), Marie-Odile Valot-Degueurce (ornamentalist), de fil et d'argile (ceramist), Nelly (lacemaker) and all the painters and artists present.
