La Chambre claire

Ever since he was a child, Arthur has blinked hard to keep images in his head of things he promised himself he'd never forget, as if he were a camera. By building a pinhole camera on stage, an optical device derived from the darkroom, Arthur takes us into his memories and compares his childhood with that of the audience. There's what hasn't changed: the sun rising, life, death and love; and what has changed and will continue to evolve: cars, text messages and cameras. All these inventions save a lot of time. But what do we do with all this time we've saved? La Chambre claire is a show by Jeanne Garraud, somewhere between philosophy and photography, which whispers in children's ears that it's possible to become everything we've dreamed of being, as long as we take the time to build our dreams, and promise not to forget them.
