The architect (almost) won't bite #2

-

The result of a collaboration between the Ordre des architectes, the Direction régionale des affaires culturelles and the Réseau Architecture de Bourgogne-Franche-Comté with the Commune collective and Kobalt Studio, the touring exhibition L'architecte ne mord (presque) pas continues its exploration of everyday architecture with a second instalment featuring two new projects.
Through graphic data, filmed accounts and personal accounts, the exhibition sheds light on the choice of calling on the services of an architect when imagining and building one's own home. It shows concrete approaches, rooted in the realities of the region, where the architectural project is born of dialogue between residents and professionals.
This second part of the exhibition takes a closer look at the fruitful relationships between architects and clients: relationships based on listening, trust and co-construction, in the course of which unique living spaces take shape, adapted to local uses, desires and contexts. The exhibition defends an architecture that is accessible, attentive and driven by local architects.
The scenography extends this intention by playing with the codes of domesticity. It invites visitors to symbolically enter the "house of the project", to discover the stages in its conception and to better understand the choices that shaped each project.
The tour is rounded off by a series of video interviews, available online, with the residents and architects involved in the projects. These are all sensitive accounts of the rich dialogue between those who live and those who design.
