For the 3rd year running, the Bugey Sud Grand Colombier Tourist Office is offering visits to local farms during the October school holidays, from Saturday 19 October to Saturday 2 November. It's a chance to discover some unique skills! Nicolas has taken over the family farm in the village of Hotonnes and started up a meat business with his Charolais cattle, which graze almost all year round at an altitude of over 800m on the Plateau de Retord. Nicolas, a butcher by training, will explain how his farm and herd are run, and how the meat from his animals is processed in his on-farm laboratory into sausages, charcuterie, sliced meat and parcels. You'll have the privilege of rubbing shoulders with a few specimens of his waguy cattle, which he raises with passion and which produce exceptional meat, said to be the finest in the world. Tasting at the end of the visit Free visit (registration required). An event organised in partnership with Les Epicuriennes de Belley
