Macbeth

-

Devoured by ambition and urged on by Lady Macbeth, General Macbeth commits a crime to seize power, but guilt consumes them to the point of madness. Adapted and directed by David Gauchard, this play marks almost twenty years of friendship with the translator André Markowicz. This is a play for the eyes and ears that gets right to the heart of the matter, in a language that has been chiselled to perfection, and is rooted in the very depths of Shakespeare's verses. Marina Keltchewsky, a formidable actress and singer, plays Lady Macbeth, while the singer-songwriter and rapper Arm, with his unmistakeable voice and phrasing, is her general husband. Vanessa Liautey, Sophie Richelieu, Vincent Mourlon and bagpiper François Robin complete the cast, in a production that once again gives pride of place to the music. This Macbeth promises to be the stuff of doom and gloom!

For ages 13 and up.
This show is an in-house creation and new for the 24-25 season.
