Nuits des étoiles 2025

In 2025, Starry Nights will take place on 1, 2 and 3 August.

A national event, "Nuits des étoiles" is designed to raise public awareness of stargazing. It takes place all over France, organised by local clubs. In Besançon, the AAFC is organising the event in the grounds of the observatory, with some fifteen telescopes and scopes.

The date is chosen at national level according to the absence of the Moon, and close to the period of visibility of the Perseids, the shooting stars of summer. This is usually around the first week of August.

For many, it's the chance to put their eye to the eyepiece for the first time. The enthusiastic reaction of the public to the first observation of Saturn, Jupiter or the craters of the Moon is a reward for the AAFC amateurs, who bring their equipment and give up their time to make this event a success.

The event is also made possible by the participation of the Observatoire des Sciences et de l'Univers, which provides the site and infrastructure.
