Purging baby

-

Born in Paris in 1862, Feydeau wrote his first play at the age of seven. With On purge bébé, he emphasised the importance of laughter in the theatre and, by analysing a family, highlighted the shortcomings of bourgeois society through comic but also tragic situations. When Karelle Prugnaud revisits this text and entrusts it to formidably talented clowns - Nikolaus Holz, a specialist in the engineering of failure, the actor Philippe Duquesne who is inseparable from Les Deschiens, and the actor Patrice Thibaud whose humour is so offbeat - it gives it a wonderfully acidic sheen. It's about dysfunctional relationships, the power of bullying children, social tensions and addiction to new technologies in a hyper-connected world. Feydeau's favourite entrances and slamming doors are on full display in this fresco about a world that is still shining but on the brink of collapse.

For ages 10 and up.
This show is an in-house creation and is new for the 24-25 season.
