Bear

-

It all started with an observation: the ugly is invading the world. And a question: is beauty nothing more than a pile of ashes? If it still exists, let's hunt it down, in art as well as on the pavement, on a daily basis. On stage, fighting against resignation, a woman dressed as a bear sets out to do just that, in a car park overlooked by two street lamps. Behind her, a row of beige covers hung on racks, the large dressing room where the actresses come to draw their fish or giant plant disguises. With a host of incongruous and absurd images, conjuring up a jumble of astonishing memories (the Gisèle ballet, Cassavetes, Vermeer, Ingres, Delacroix, Elvis Presley, etc.), Ourse traces a trail of light through the cooled magma of our past emotions. Profuse and joyful, visually very graphic, this show invites us to contemplate and exhorts us, magnificently, not to give in to despair.
