Show - Orphans

-

By prior arrangement. Helen is married to Danny. They have one child, Shane. They are having dinner together in their flat. They are interrupted by Liam, Helen's brother, whose shirt is covered in blood. The couple want to find out what happened. Liam speaks confusedly of a "wounded young man" whom he had taken in his arms. The lines fly, the characters' positions assert themselves, evolve and contradict each other throughout the play at a frenetic pace. Helen is two years older than Liam. They have been orphans since early childhood. They also feel abandoned by the government. They have a close relationship, but Helen is a mother and married. Liam takes refuge
in identitarianism and racism. The lack, born in the family sphere, then nourished by the chaotic journey of being taken into care by centres or foster families, then extends to the political sphere.
