
In the footsteps of Claude Simon
The Association des Lecteurs de Claude Simon (ALCS), in association with the Arbois cultural department, is organising a day devoted to the novelist Claude Simon to celebrate the fortieth anniversary of his Nobel Prize for Literature. As a child, Claude Simon spent all his holidays with his aunts in Les Planches and Arbois. His novels bear witness to this.
The day will unfold as follows:
9.30am to 12.30pm: Presentation of Claude Simon and his work (lectures, readings, audio-visual archives). Salle des associations in the town hall. In partnership with the bookshop Le Hamac, Arbois.
2.30pm to 5.30pm: A walk from Mesnay to Les Planches to discover places dear to Claude Simon, with readings of extracts from his novels by the Atout Livre association. (9 km - easy)
2.30pm: The meeting point for the walk is as follows: Lycée Friant, 3 rue de Larney. You can park your car in the car park at the bottom of the school.
