Thisispain

Following the international success of We Love Arabs, dancer-choreographer Hillel Kogan returns with a humorous proposal in which he confronts his world (that of Israeli contemporary dance) with that of Mijal Natan, a specialist in Spanish dance and flamenco. In a gentle yet powerful way, they approach their art not only as an artistic language but also as a political object, a place for debate, construction and meaning. Kogan not only dances but also deconstructs, shattering clichés and challenging postures, addressing the audience like a stand-up king. A provocative and flamboyant duo with a subtle dialogue between gender and culture, rich in references and imagination, Thisispain invites us to reflect on the absurdity of geographical and choreographic borders, and raises the question of identity - a highly controversial subject, cleverly served up with a (tall) glass of self-mockery.
