Victor & the ukulele
Tales in song - family audience from age 6
Running time: 50 min
Victor is a seven-year-old boy like all the others, or almost... He has a "height" problem, in every sense of the word! He's so small that his friends hardly notice him, or make fun of him. Until the day he meets a strange instrument just a little smaller than himself that will change the course of his life... Self-esteem, the way other people look at him, the incessant rush of adults and the lack of time to let his dreams grow are all subjects tackled with humour, tenderness and poetry in this initiation tale on the theme of difference.
Thanks to her finely-crafted lyrics and the complicity of multi-instrumentalist Frank Arbaretaz, Kandid draws us into her poetic and sensitive universe, gently swinging a graceful song with pop-folk accents. The ukulele is at the heart of the story, but no fewer than seven plucked string instruments will be featured throughout the show - in all sizes, sounds and characters!
