Guided tour: Avanne-Aveney
Avanne-Aveney has a rich heritage stretching from antiquity to the modern era. Gallo-Roman remains attest to the presence of a villa on the site, while the church of Saint-Vincent, built in the 19th century, replaces an earlier building often threatened by flooding from the Doubs. Along the way, old houses, vaulted cellars and vestiges of winegrowing tell the story of the seigneuries and families that shaped the commune. Traces of the Second World War recall the history of Avanne-Aveney during the events of the Occupation and the Resistance, and bear witness to the role played by the villagers during this difficult period. An immersion in the picturesque and lively past of this area.
