Guided tour of the Maison Michaud ecomuseum
Situated at an altitude of over 1100 m, the Maison Michaud, a typical Haut-Doubs tuyé farmhouse, has stood the test of time since 1683. Immerse yourself in the life of the farmers of the Jura massif
from the 17th to the early 20th century.
During your visit, you'll explore the 800 m2 of exhibition space and the 2,000 objects on display. You'll discover how ingeniously the farmers adapted to the harsh, long winters, and the solutions they found to this self-sufficient lifestyle: sustainable architecture in harmony with the environment, know-how, lifestyles, etc.
A visit to the Maison Michaud is also a chance to hear stories about the Franco-Swiss border, where history and stories are intertwined: the border markers, smuggling, the Resistance and the smugglers during the Second
during the Second World War...
Come and spend a pleasant moment in this old farmhouse typical of the Jura Mountains!
On site, you'll find
- a shop selling souvenirs and regional products.
- Coach parking available.
